Alexandria, VA, May 7, 2024 – DNPs of Color (DOCs), a prominent organization dedicated to promoting networking, mentorship, advocacy, and diversity in nursing practice, is delighted to announce the commencement of the second cohort for the DNPs of Color MyDNPManuscript mentorship program (MDM), formerly known as Pathway to Publication.

“After the generous donation by Sara Hauber, creator of the My DNP Manuscript Program, we decided to keep the program’s original branding in honor of this gift,” said DNPs of Color President/CEO Dr. Danielle McCamey.

Following a highly successful pilot program last year, where all nine participants successfully transformed their DNP projects into publication-ready manuscripts, we are eager to kick off the next cohort,” said McCamey.

The MyDNPManuscript mentorship program spans over fourteen weeks, engaging both doctoral students and doctorally-prepared nursing professionals in the publication process. Mentees are matched with experienced mentors who guide them through the manuscript writing and editing phases. In addition to nurturing a robust mentor-mentee relationship, participants acquire crucial skills and best practices for creating manuscripts, propelling them towards their publication goals. The program curriculum is based on the “Six Steps to a Publication-Ready Journal Manuscript,” supplemented by a range of additional cohort activities.

“MDM offers the crucial support and accountability that scholars need to prepare their manuscripts for successful submission. We take immense pride in contributing to the advancement of scholarly work aimed at reducing health disparities and promoting health equity,” expressed Dr. Cecilia Boyd, the Director for MDM Mentorship program for DNPs of Color.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Have a manuscript drafted within the past 2 years.
  • Identify as a nurse of color.
  • Currently enrolled in a doctorate program or possess a doctoral degree.
  • Commit to participating in the 14-week program in its entirety.
