Dr. Kenya Beard to Deliver Keynote

ALEXANDRIA, VA (August 2, 2021) – DNPs of Color (DOCs) will be hosting its inaugural conference virtually on October 23, 2021 at 9am EDT. The theme is DOCs at the Table: Promoting Diversity, Transforming Nursing Practice. “We wanted a theme that spoke to the impact DNPs of Color make in healthcare” said Dr. Danielle McCamey, Founder, President and CEO of DOCs. “Being DNP-prepared enables you to have a seat at different tables. Since our community brings a richness of diversity and variety of dynamic leaders, it uniquely positions us to be influential in transforming nursing practice.” said Dr. McCamey.

DNPs of Color keynote address will be delivered by Kenya V. Beard, EdD, AGACNP-BC, CNE, ANEF, FAAN. Dr. Beard is the Associate Provost for Social Mission and Academic Excellence at Chamberlain University, 2012 Macy Faculty Scholar, Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine, American Academy of Nursing, and Academy of Nursing Education. Her scholarship amplifies awareness of racism in nursing and higher education, and the importance of graduating a diverse workforce that is prepared to improve health care access and quality.

The virtual conference will feature content from the top experts in nursing, leadership and beyond that will include posters, dynamic plenary and mini podium presentations on scholarship, antiracism, leadership, and clinical practice.
