Dr. Dwayne Alleyne

BOARD MEMBER

Dwayne Alleyne, DNP, APRN, ACNP-C, is a native of Brooklyn, New York. He resides in Columbia, SC, and is a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina College of Nursing. He received his Bachelor of Science in Physiology from Michigan State University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Adelphi University, and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of South Carolina. Dr. Alleyne has been in the nursing field for over 20 years, 12 of them as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at Prisma Health and the Columbia VA Health Care System.

Dwayne Alleyne is actively involved in nursing leadership, currently serving as Executive Director and founder of Capitol Nurse Practitioner Group, one of the largest nurse practitioner organizations in South Carolina. He also serves as Member-at-Large of South Carolina Nurses Association, with his primary responsibility being member engagement. Dwayne is also a former advisory board member and social media chair of  DNPs of Color. He is serving his second term as a DEI committee member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
