Alexandria, VA – May 6, 2025 — DNPs of Color (DOCs), the premier organization for DNP-prepared nurses of color, proudly announces a $5,000 donation from FIGS, a leader in healthcare apparel. The contribution was made in honor of Andrea Dalzell, RN, a nationally recognized disability rights advocate, who selected DNPs of Color as her organization of choice during her recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

Andrea Dalzell, also known as “The Seated Nurse,” is a fierce advocate for representation and accessibility in healthcare. During her appearance on the show, she shared her inspiring journey and spotlighted DNPs of Color for its work in advancing equity in nursing leadership. In recognition of her advocacy, FIGS donated $5,000 to support the organization’s ongoing mission.

“We are incredibly grateful to Andrea Dalzell for uplifting our work, and to FIGS for their generous support,” said Dr. Danielle McCamey, Founder and CEO of DNPs of Color. “This contribution is a powerful affirmation of our commitment to ensuring that the future of nursing leadership reflects the communities we serve.”

The donation will directly support DNPs of Color’s initiatives to advance workforce diversity, leadership development, and health equity through scholarships, mentorship programs, and advocacy efforts.
