Thomas A. Dalton, LMHC, MT-BC, has been in the field of music therapy for over 15 years and has worked extensively in hospice and bereavement. Tom is a board-certified music therapist and licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. He works full-time for VITAS Healthcare in Broward, Florida, and serves as the senior music therapist and clinical training director of music therapy services for VITAS in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Tom founded and developed Camp VITAS, a bereavement camp for children and teens, and is a published author in music therapy and professional journals. He has co-authored journal articles on his work with therapeutic songwriting with bereaved adolescents in Music Therapy Perspectives, Arts in Psychotherapy, and book chapters in Grief and the Expressive Arts by R. Neimeyer and B. Thompson, and in The Healing Power of the Drum by Robert Lawerence Friedman. Tom is a frequent presenter on music therapy at local, regional and national music therapy and bereavement conferences.
