ALEXANDRIA, VA. — DNPs of Color (DOCs), a leading organization advancing diversity and leadership among doctorally prepared nurses, proudly congratulates Dr. Roberto Roman, PhD, DNP, RN, CMSRN. on his recent appointment as Provost of Mountain Ridge University (MRU).

A distinguished nurse leader, scholar, and advocate, Dr. Roman represents the very spirit of transformational leadership we champion at DNPs of Color. With two doctoral degrees, a 2023 LGBTQ+ Researcher of the Year title, and distinction as one of the first 40 individuals worldwide certified in evidence-based practice by the Helene Fuld Institute, Dr. Roman brings unparalleled excellence to academic leadership.

A proud alumnus of Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and the University of Miami, Dr. Roman’s work spans oncology nursing, LGBTQ+ health, and health equity for historically underserved communities. His leadership extends beyond the classroom  as a mentor, published researcher, and co-chair of national health equity movements, he exemplifies the future of nursing and academic innovation.
